Respecting human rights

The Nippon Chemiphar Group’s business activities, from procurement to manufacturing, distribution and sales, involves overseas and well as Japan. For this reason, we must undertake to protect and respect the human rights of those not only in our Group, but also throughout our supply chain. Moreover, it is expected that we provide relief in the event that we become aware of human rights violations. The Nippon Chemiphar Group Legal Compliance Code of Conduct clearly states that the Group will respect the human rights,personality, and individuality of all employees; comply with the relevant laws and regulations; and respect diverse cultures and customs. By so doing, we share the importance of respect for human rights.

1. Basic Concept

As we understand that all our business activities stand on respecting human rights, we pursue our business philosophy “to make a difference in society by providing pharmaceutical drugs and health-related services to help people become and remain healthy” by setting “Nippon Chemiphar Group Human Rights Policy” as a basic policy to respect the human rights of all parties concerned. When we refer saying, “people”, it means anyone around the globe with human rights whose personality needs to be respected - without discrimination of their gender, nationality, race, thought/belief, religion, educational background or disabilities and support them through our pharmaceutical drugs and health-related services. We believe this thought will remain unchanged, regardless of how times and society change.


2. Scope

This policy applies to all Group officers and employees, and we hope all our stakeholders, including our suppliers, customers and stockholders and business partners, all understand and support this policy.


3. Policy Promotion Framework

Our Group will address this policy by both labor and management sides. Therefore, under the president and CEO, officers in charge of Compliance, Human Resources, General Affairs, presidents of affiliates and subsidiaries will all be responsible for understanding and promoting this policy.


4. Relief and Rectification

If it is revealed that the Group caused or encouraged any adverse impacts on human rights, appropriate measures will be taken to be relieved and rectified.


5. Disclosure

The Group’s progress and results in addressing respect human rights will be disclosed in an appropriate manner through the corporate website or corporate report or other company’s owned media.


6. Stakeholder Engagement

We will continue to improve and enhance the quality of our efforts for respecting human rights and as we bring together information internally and externally, dialogues and consultation with the related stakeholders will be held.


This policy has been approved at the board meeting. It is subject to be updated based on the changes in the business environment.
